Not a fan of the weather so I'll post a blog..

Today is the coldest day that I have ever had the misfortune to experience.
Cold weather seems to me to be a punishment of some description, like winters seeking revenge on the population, forcing everyone indoors and increasing the need to spend money on such things as electric blankets, kettles and hot chocolate. I can not for the life of me see the point in having to stay inside the house with the heating cranked up to the highest degree with every blanket you can find in your house wrapped around you, clenching a cup of steaming tea just to keep your hands warm. I'd much rather prance around in a bikini, eating a Frosty Fruit, occasionally ducking outside to work on the tan. Why can't the weather allow that all year round? Instead I sit here with 2 hoodies on, a robe and the fluffiest trackies I could find in my draws along with thick white bed socks and a beanie stuck uncomfortably on my head. And yes ladies and gentlemen, I am still cold. So if anyone can manage to justify the season of winter and the days where you physically cannot leave the house due to the extreme cold wave, I would be interested to here your point of view as at this stage, the only positive to this current situation is that due to the fact you cannot leave your house you have full permission to stack on a few extra kilos. But the down side to this, is when the sun does return from its selfish holiday and decides to heat the country up to a normal and livable temperature once again, you cannot prance around in your bikinis as usual as you no longer fit into them.

  1. On the contrary, Claire, I must disagree with you; I much prefer winter over summer. Although, I suppose this would have to do with the differences in what we enjoy doing: I am not an overly outdoors person, and I absolutely love rugging up and feeling warm as toast. I would prefer to feel too cold than too hot; when you're too hot, it is near impossible to make yourself pleasantly comfortable temperature-wise, whereas when you're too cold, it is far easier to keep stacking on the clothes or cranking up the heating. It feels so much nicer to be warm and fluffy. The one thing that summer does have over winter is summer holidays, which I'll admit gives it heaps of points. However, winter, rain, staying inside...I love it. And Claire: it's going to get a lot colder. =P

  2. Cristina you have just earned yourself a place on my nut case list.
However I can see your point, although I myself stand on the opposite side of this opinion, being very outdoorsy with an obsession with heat and anything hot (this could possibly explain my infatuation with Jude Law). And I for one would much prefer to be hot than cold. I can't back that up but I just do :]
Anyway thanks for your opposing opinion and a reason to think you are nuts :]
